A little music Biz background

In 1983 East moved into the independent sector and started working for Proto records as marketing manager. First signing was Hazell Dean and the debut single "Searching looking for love " reached number 6 in 1983.East then brought in the then unknown record producers Pete Waterman Mike Stock and Matt Aitken to write and produce Hazell's second single "whatever I do" This became Stock Aitken and Waterman's first top ten hit that they had both written and produced
In 1985 East Set up Supreme Records with
his business partner Kate Farmer and working out of the new PWL Studios in the
Borough south London. The first release was "say I am your number 1 " by princess which became a worldwide hit.

Other hits followed The London sisters Mel
and Kim released "showing out" in 1987 which reached number 2 in the uk charts
and top 5 worldwide. Supremes first number 1 came in 1988 with Mel and Kim's "respectable" Other
hits followed and Supreme was sold to EMI in 1993.
East continued working as a consultant at
Pete Waterman's PWL Records. and managing artistes such as Yazz and and the R&B
band Awesome and Girls@play, Rita Simons. He continued running his management consultancy
business until 2004. He then concentrated on other business ventures outside
the music industry.
In 2007 he set up an online marketing company for small business's. East now brings all the experience of his online marketing company to the music industry with the launch of Attractiondigitalmarketing.com
